Ash the Bear

Ash

Found Their Home

A soft brown bear who found his people on St George's Day.

Ash's Story

Ash came to us from a table at a Long Parish sale about two years. He’d clearly been well-loved. The fur on his paw pads had gone a bit thin, and his embroidered nose had lost a stitch or two at one corner.

He’s a fluffy brown thing with a yellow stripe down his back and a stitched mouth that sits somewhere between a smile and a think. No tag, no brand, no clues. Just a soft seated bear waiting to be picked up.

I knitted him a onesie by hand. Cream wool, a little cardigan shape at the top. It took me a few evenings and I changed the pattern twice. He looked right in it straight away.

We took Ash to the St George’s Day event in Horley about two years, and he went home that same afternoon with a lovely family who spotted him first thing.
