Bobby

Bobby turned up in Birdham in August 2019, wearing a Build-a-Bear baseball jersey for the Cubs. He looked like he’d been heading to a game and taken a wrong turn somewhere around second base. The jersey was a bit grubby but otherwise he was in good shape, clearly a bear who’d seen some love.

We gave him a good clean and he scrubbed up well. He spent a few weeks on the stall looking sporty and turning heads. Bobby made his public debut at the Surbiton Festival in September 2019, where he sat proudly in his Cubs colours and attracted plenty of attention from families passing by.

By the end of that same day, Bobby had found his new home in Chessington. We like to think he’s settled into a comfy spot on someone’s shelf, still dressed for the big game, still waiting for his team to call him up.
