Fleece Blanket

These fleece blankets are properly soft and just the right weight for keeping little ones (or big ones, honestly) warm on the sofa or in the pushchair. The hand-crocheted border is what sets them apart — it gives a soft, decorative edge that turns a simple fleece into something you’d be happy to give as a gift. At around 100 by 80 centimetres, they’re a generous size without being unwieldy.

How It’s Made

The fleece is cut to size and the edges are carefully blanket-stitched by hand all the way around. This line of blanket stitches creates the anchor points for the crocheted border, which is then worked in double knit yarn in a complementary colour. The crochet adds just enough weight to help the blanket drape nicely, and gives it that lovely handmade finish you can spot from across the room.
